Nice sturdy piggy bank toy

This is a sturdy vinyl piggy bank toy. I bought it to replace a ceramic one that my son dropped and it broke. But we are very happy with the finish, quality and durability of this one.

I bought this bank for my 3 year old grandson – it’s one of the cutest I’ve seen and he really likes to store his pennies in it. It’s very sturdy & has a cute expression – unlike most of the others I looked at. It stands solidly, so stores easily on a shelf.

Piggies

Purchased for my 4 year old nephew & 2 year old neice. They love 'em, and frequently carry them around the house, dropping them, turning them over, & generally treating them like kids that age treat everything, with no ill effects.

They are larger than the pictures make them seem, and can fit a good chunk of change. Everything in the body is hollow, right down to the toes. (Not certain about the movable head.)

The only issue (as others have mentioned) is the blue coloring that seems to come from the packaging onto the pigs. It does scrub off, but it'd be nicer if one didn't have to clean 'em before anyone's played with 'em.

I believe this was the best purchase I ever made for my 18 month old son. He loves his piggy bank and I love how even though he drops it, it will not break. This product is helping my son save for the future

good for older kids

This is a perfectly well-made functional piggy bank. If, however, you plan to take the money out with any regularity (say, your 3-year-old’s favorite game is to put coins in, then have you empty the bank so she can do it again), I don’t recommend it. The coins fall down into the legs and are very difficult to get out of the hole, which is in the tummy of the pig.

I ordered this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She was so excited when she saw it, she gave it a big hug. She could not wait to raid my purse for coins. Earlier reviewers voiced concerns about this piggy. I have no worries about my granddaughter’s safety playing with this bank. The neckerchief adds to this pig’s personality. We like the blue check. Earlier reviews reported scuffs on the bank. Ours arrived in perfect condition. This is a fun and sturdy toy/savings tool.

I see that most people here bought this for small children… Well, I bought this for myself, as as alternative for just dropping coins on the kitched counter when we come from the street. I imagined that this would be a small piggy bank, cute but discreet – but no, it’s HUGE, I cannot leave that in my live that in my kitchen or living room, so I’m returning it. (Again, my fault, as I failed to read the dimensions.) However, it looks like a great gift for children – extremely cute, soft and cuddly.

Cute, but very serious design flaw

This piggy bank is soft, durable, and adorable, but it has a major design flaw. Because the legs are hollow and the plug hole in the bottom is surrounded by a lip, it's very difficult to get the coins out. Once you pull the plug and turn the pig over, all the coins spill and slide into the legs. The lip around the plug hole inside the bank also prevent coins from sliding out. The only way to get the coins out is thus to shake the bank violently. The only coins that come out will be those that hit the plug hole directly.

This bank is wonderful for kids who want to look at it, but not for those who want to insert and remove coins.

Better Than Hand Made

I used to make sock monkey dolls for my children when they were young. When I purchased the sock monkey doll, I didn't know how it would look, but I was amazed! It looked better than my hand made dolls.

I figure by the time I bought the socks, stuffing, and yarn, and paid for the shipping on the socks, it would probably cost me more to make them, and they wouldn't look as nice as the one I purchased.

These are adorable and are good quality.
